Eucalyptus leaves have long been used by native Australians as a cure-all remedy. Its best-known use is as a vapour rub or inhalation for colds, clearing the nose and preventing spread of the cold virus. It also has a powerful bactericidal and anti-viral action and helps to prevent picking up of infectious illnesses. Eucalyptus is very antiseptic and healing when applied to wounds and burns. It is also a good insect repellent.
